Termites
Termites are small insects that live in colonies and have distinct castes and feed on wood or other dead plant matter. Termites comprise the infraorder Isoptera, or alternatively the epifamily Termitoidae, within the order Blattodea. In Florida, termites cause more damage to structures than fires, floods and storms combined. It is very important to protect your home from these very destructive insects.
Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are insects from the genus Cimex that feed on blood, usually at night. Their bites can result in a number of health impacts including skin rashes, psychological effects, and allergic symptoms. Bed bug bites may lead to skin changes ranging from small areas of redness to prominent blisters. Treating bed bugs is complex and can take weeks to months, depending on the extent of the infestation.
Rodents
Preventive measures are the best defense against having rats and mice take up residence in your home, but professional rodent control is the most effective way to eliminate existing problems with rats and mice. Catching mice with traps can quickly reduce your mouse population, but it’s important to do it right.
Bees
Bees are winged insects closely related to wasps and ants, known for their roles in pollination and, in the case of the best-known bee species, the western honey bee, for producing honey. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea. They are presently considered a clade, called Anthophila. You should not try to do this on your own. Without the proper knowledge, experience, and tools, you can upset the hive and provoke them into stinging you.
Wasps
A wasp is any insect of the narrow-waisted suborder Apocrita of the order Hymenoptera which is neither a bee nor an ant; this excludes the broad-waisted sawflies, which look somewhat like wasps, but are in a separate suborder. Colonies can be located inside the walls of your home or in the ground. You can use sprays or bait to kill wasps, or try removing the nest. However, you should never remove a nest by knocking it down or hitting it with a bat or other item.
